The National Library of Uganda cooperates with several government and civil society organizations within and outside the country in providing library and information services. Book Aid International (UK) is the major source of reading materials for the libraries. UNESCO is funding the preparation of the architectural brief for the proposed National Library of Uganda building. The Swedish International Development Association (SIDA) is funding upcountry National Book Week activities.
SIDA through the East African Book Development Association (EABDA), through the National Book Trust of Uganda (NABOTU), used to fund the School Library Development Project.
