Librarians from different public and community libraries in Uganda attended the Advocacy, communication and awareness raising workshop for new library services, which was organized by the National Library of Uganda and Maendeleo Foundation and funded by the Electronic Information for Libraries (EIFL), at the Virtual University Uganda.
The National Library of Uganda participated in the 5th Annual Conference for the Uganda Community Libraries Association which was held from the 18th to the 20th of January 2015 at Kitengesa Community Library in Lwanunda Masaka. The theme for the conference was “Community Engagement; Libraries for Community Empowerment”.
NLU ushered in the year 2015 with good news. In the department of the Inspectorate Research and Extension Services (IRES) one of the NLU partners; Book Aid International successfully secured funding from the Headley Trust in the UK to extend the project “Changing libraries for children in Uganda”
